Functions and applications

The first-generation Bridge connects compatible igloohome locks to the network, with up to 5 locks per gateway. It uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to add networked management to existing offline locks.

Installation and compatibility checks

The gateway needs indoor power and must be within both router coverage and the lock's Bluetooth range. Check the lock compatibility list before deployment; for example, Keybox 3 officially requires MP2 or later batches.

Selection comparison

Unlike Bridge 2 with dual-band Wi-Fi 6, the first-generation Bridge supports only 2.4 GHz networks. The router's wireless band, encryption settings and gateway placement affect connectivity more than enclosure size.

Limitations

• Indoor use only, operating at 0°C to 40°C. WEP and unencrypted networks are unsupported; compatibility with all later igloo models must not be assumed.
