Functions and applications

Bridge 2 EB2 provides dual-band Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, with Ethernet and PoE available through the separately sold AE1 adapter. Connection capacity varies by platform: 5 locks with igloohome and 10 with enterprise iglooworks.

Installation and compatibility checks

Plan placement using line-of-sight ranges of 5 m for door locks, 4 m for keyboxes and 3 m for padlocks, then account for attenuation through walls. PoE requires both AE1 and a suitable powered network; the gateway itself does not accept a direct Ethernet cable connection.

Selection comparison

Compared with the first-generation Bridge, this model adds 5 GHz and optional wired connectivity. For a single nearby lock, assess the existing gateway first; multi-location deployment requires a Bluetooth coverage check in each area.

Limitations

• Indoor use only. Ethernet and PoE require the separately sold AE1; the 10-lock limit does not apply to the igloohome platform.
