Functions and applications

Padlock 2 combines numeric PINs and Bluetooth keys in a rechargeable padlock for timed equipment, cabinet and hasp access. Its 8.7 mm shackle and 24.3 × 35.6 mm clearance are key dimensions for choosing a hasp.

Installation and compatibility checks

Measure the hasp hole, combined thickness and span the shackle must bridge, then check whether the 8.7 mm shackle fits. An additional long-shackle option is offered; standard clearance dimensions do not apply automatically to that option.

Selection comparison

Unlike Padlock Lite's fingerprint access, this model emphasises PIN and Bluetooth authorisation and provides USB-C emergency power. Its body is thicker than the first-generation Padlock, so check operating space around the hasp when replacing it.

Limitations

• The manufacturer states battery life of approximately 9 months maximum, varying with use and environment. Outdoor installation also requires checking the weather resistance of the hasp and fixing points.
