Difference between the thumbturn side and key side

The round thumbturn is on side C of the catalogue diagram. Site records should identify the side facing indoors and check clearance to the handle and door frame as the thumbturn turns. Swapping side lengths also changes the thumbturn and key positions; overall length alone is insufficient.
