Grip and axial dimensions differ
Page 203 lists a 30 mm faceted round thumbturn, 35 mm flat thumbturn, 40 mm triangular thumbturn and 30 mm round thumbturn. Grip shape affects surrounding operating clearance; axial dimensions affect projection from the door face. Retain the original drawing's dimension directions when comparing.
For example, triangular thumbturn 044147 has an illustrated 40 mm grip dimension and 30 mm axial dimension; round thumbturn 044117 has a 30 mm diameter and 24 mm axial dimension. These are not “length and width” values whose order can be swapped.
Check the interface and fasteners separately
The thumbturn drawings on page 203 list an 8 mm interface and M4 fixing screw. Still confirm that the target cylinder has been prepared for the corresponding thumbturn; these parameters cannot be applied directly to any cylinder.
Page 204 separately lists adapter plate 5412600260000. Its 20×36 mm external dimensions and 26 mm centre distance describe the adapter plate, not the thumbturn outline or complete cylinder length. Record each part's dimensions according to what is actually being measured.
Distinguish finish, mechanical construction and function names
Brass and satin nickel-plated versions of the same thumbturn have different catalogue numbers but share the same group's construction dimensions. This encyclopaedia combines these differences; the required finish must still be specified when purchasing.
Anti-barricade thumbturn 044309 is listed separately in the catalogue. That page does not provide the complete operating mechanism or a compatible-cylinder list, so the name alone does not establish the same function in a particular cylinder; consult the specific system documents further.
