Door closer arm types and installation conditions

Standard arms, slide arms, hold-open arms and parallel-arm mounting describe different constructions or configuration relationships. When selecting a closer, confirm arm type and mounting method together with door width, weight and body model.

Identify the arm assembly first

IS315 is listed with a slide arm and IS310 with a standard arm; the catalogue provides separate product parameters for each. Similar body dimensions alone do not permit exchanging arm assemblies.

A hold-open arm is a separately listed hold-open configuration; a parallel-arm bracket changes the mounting arrangement. Brackets, replacement arms and closer bodies are separate order items; an accessory price or number should not be treated as the complete product.

Mounting method can change parameter limits

The IS50E and IS10E application pages list maximum door width 1100 mm and weight 100 kg for standard/link arms, but 950 mm and 80 kg for parallel arms. These are catalogue values under specified conditions, not universal commitments for every arm type or arbitrary width/weight combination.

Retain these conditions when purchasing; selecting only the larger numbers loses information useful to the actual arrangement. Also check opening direction, door-leaf application and site clearance against the manufacturer's instructions.

Check accessories by series

The PB1050 bracket, LSA1050 replacement arm and HO1050 hold-open replacement arm each have a defined purpose; sharing compatibility with IS10E/IS50E does not mean they perform the same function.

The catalogue separately lists mounting plates for IS315/IS310/IS115, IS110/IS65 and IS60. Similar compatible series do not establish identical hole spacing; accessory hole positions cannot be inferred from the body's external dimensions.
